VP of Business Development - Chicago
Experience :At REX, Kevin is responsible for ensuring the firm is retaining and developing new clients. He is a relationship person, and has experience in project management and development - consulting for all our clients, especially affordable housing. Kevin is involved from the beginning of the project (site selection and site planning) to the end, as well as after the building is occupied. He also has a strong passion for government and politics. Before his career in construction, Kevin started his professional career in college, working in City Government for two Chicago Alderman (Bernardini & Daley) as well as for Dan Hynes, the State Comptroller. He also worked and volunteered on many city, county, and state campaigns during his adult life. Kevin’s relationship-building and problem-solving skills were pivotal during his work at a national construction firm, architectural and engineering firms, as well as a owner representative and a finance firm doing project management and business development. Kevin’s focus is developing and nurturing relationships, turning them into mutual opportunities and revenue. His achievements include developing over $1 billion worth of business for construction, design, and real estate firms. He helped launch and grow the Chicago office for a Michigan-based architectural design firm and he developed and sustained an affordable housing building program with consistent results over 5 years. Among other achievements, Kevin helped to establish a National Federal Building (GSA, Army Corps, DoD, Veterans Affairs) program, successfully developed a program from smaller local projects to national large-scale projects, and successfully acquired numerous construction contracts in two regions. Kevin graduated from DePaul University and serves as a Board Member for Cristo Rey Jesuit High School. Aside from his professional career, Kevin participated actively in philanthropic work. He previously served as the Executive Board Member and Chair of the Membership and Events at Illinois Housing Council (IHC), President at Mid-North Association, a non-profit volunteer organization. He was also affiliated with Marillac St. Vincent Family Services Advisory Board for many years, having served as the Associate Board President for 3 years. Born and bred in the suburbs of Chicago, Kevin lived in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago for his entire adult life. He is active in his neighborhood through various community and political organizations as well as his local public elementary and high school activities with his kids in Chicago. He has spoken at numerous conferences and seminars throughout Chicagoland. He enjoys spending time with his family, watching Bears games, and enjoying everything Chicago has to offer.
