Brett McMillan

    At REX, Brett’s primary role is to manage all personnel and projects undertaken by the Charlotte office. He is the executive point of contact with clients during all phases of a project and a primary point of contact during contract negotiation, planning and design stages of the projects with which he is involved. Brett’s early involvement and owner assistance measures typically include budgeting, constructability reviews, value engineering, preliminary master schedules, and design schedule compliance. Brett is also responsible for coordinating staff needs and maintaining an oversight role with all assigned projects in the Charlotte office, including quality control and customer satisfaction.

    Prior to joining the REX team, Brett had over 30 years of experience with a strong background in the construction business in various roles - Owner, Owner’s Rep, General Contractor and Design Builder with large, midsize, and small general contractors on many different contract and building types. He has both estimating and operations experience and was a Quality Manager for process improvement within a large general contracting firm.

    Brett graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering - Construction Management and he is LEED Accredited Professional. He has a robust portfolio of managing diverse construction projects including - Light Industrial (warehouse, cold & dry storage), Healthcare, Class A Office Space, Upfits, Retail, Mixed-Use Residential, Banking, Hospitality (Hotels, Museum & Casino), Airports, Higher Education, Telecom, Government/Military, and Multi-Site projects throughout his career and totaling more than $800M in construction.

    Brett loves all sports, especially football. He lives in Charlotte, NC and has two children. His son is seeking his Doctorate at Columbia University in NYC and his daughter is in medical school in Knoxville, TN. He is a 2nd degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and had the opportunity to teach a lot of Pittsburgh Steeler’s football team members and their families.
